How’d we get here
I wanted to take woodshop in high school. My counselor steered me in a different direction. I was on the college path. The same thing has been happening for generations in America.
In pointing a majority of students toward knowledge work, our culture has lost the expertise and rewards of working with our hands while also creating a shortage of professionals working in skilled labor.
The Local Trade exists to teach the people who will build our future.
Together with a team of instructors, mentors, and advocates who share the passion for bringing tradecraft to the next generation, we are excited to offer woodworking classes to the community.
I hope you’ll join us.
